Hello Faithers, I have been asked to show some of the backs of pages that I've done to show what the other side looks like....so I have taken a few of my pages to share with you. The page that I posted yesterday was prepped with gesso...here is the front
Here is the back of the girl page. When you prep a page, you can stamp with any ink and write with any pen and get no bleed through....you are able to completely read the page and can even do some art journaling on the back page. As you see the gesso does crinkle the page a bit, but its not bad and will lay flatter as it sits in a closed book.
This next page was done on an untreated page....I stamped and colored with colored pencils and used Pitt Pens for the writing. The page is flat and smooth, but.....
You flip over to the back of the page and it doesn't really have bleed through, but ghosting. The ink doesn't soak through, but you can see the image quite well.
Another way to prep your page with out gesso is to use acrylic paints. Here I used Dina Wakely paints and a credit card to scrape some paint on the page. You can still read the scripture because the paint is put on so thin. I stamped on the painted sections and did color a bit with colored pencils.
On the back side you see a very small amount of ghosting, but not much, you could still do some art on the back side easily.
Here is a picture of the tag that I added as a tip in.....it is just taped on the left side with washi tape and can be lifted up to read the page.
I hope this has been helpful to those starting out. If you have any question please feel free to contact me.
Blessings,
Jill
