Mother of all the Living

Inred the Twelve Extraordinary Men from John MacArthur and really enjoyed it, so I had to get the Twelve Extraordinary Woman.  He start with Eve of course and I really got a lot out of it.  Women are a gift from God to men.  One thing he points out is when everything created was brought to Adam to name and there was nothing found suitable for him, so God took it upon himself , without Adam asking, to create a special helper from Adam for man, woman.  We are made in mans glory and we are to be his helper.  I feel so honored to be created in this manner, as a special gift.

The first picture had such a reflection on the alpha sticker, so I took this one without the light above, but the image isn't as bright.
I used Prima Faith stamp of Eve.

The heart flips over and reads:
The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam, not made out of his head to rule over him, not out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.
Matthew Henry

Thanks for looking, I hope you feel honored today as a woman.

Sweet Name of Jesus

I've been thinking about this page for a while, but wasn't sure of where I wanted to put it.  I was originally thinking of the New Testament, maybe one of the Gospels.  But then it hit me that it needs to be in Isaiah 9:6...and He shall be called...... I prepped or painted my page with gold acrylic paint and a makeup sponge.  Then I used my Pazzles machine and cut out the letters and traced them on the page and colored with colored pencils.  The swirls were added to write all the different names on.  I now I don't have them all, but a lot of them!
Now I want to start working on the names of Jehovah!

Happy Faithing!

Be Bold as a Lion

 Hi Faithers,
This is one of the pages I did at my scrapbook weekend.   I want to speak boldly for Christ in all I do.

I digitized a photo and made a colorbook page, then printed it on tracing paper, colored with pencils and used matte gel medium to put it down.  The lettering was done with a stencil.
Be bold in your faith today!
Hugs,
Jill

Water to Wine

Hi Faithers......I am studying through the book of John and Jesus first miracle really stood out.  It has so much spiritual meaning. The fact that it happened at a wedding symbolized that Jesus is the bridegroom and we the church are his bride.  Also, the fact of the ritual washing of water that will change to a spiritual washing of his blood.  If you are looking for a deep way of studying check out the Journibles at Christian Book.  I'm not using their journals, but my own and copying scripture.  I pray before I study for an open heart and insight into what God wants to reveal to me through the words I'm writing.  By taking the time and writing every word of scripture down really gives you time to let it sink and and time to meditate on the words.  The Spirit has really lead me deep in this kind of study and then it takes me deeper into illustrating it in my bible.
I found the image on Google and drew it staight in my Bible with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  A little washi tape to jazz it up some.
Blessing to you today!

Catch God's Vision

Hi Faithers....this weeks sermon was a summary of all the great volunteers that helped out at VBS this year.  He started with the lady in charge and her vision and how everyone jumped on board and made the vision come to life.  I like the way he referenced it to the story of David and the armies coming to share in God's vision of making David king.  Then they had 3 days of celebration.
The other part that stood out to me was the list of all the armies that came from all around.....very large groups of hundreds of thousands....and then in the middle you see a group of 200....but God still used them even if they were small in number.  Never thing you are to insignificant for God to use.  He can use anything we have to offer, big or small.

The stamp of the girl is from Unity and is a Phyllis Harris image.  I stamped on deli paper and colored with colored pencils then glued her on the page.  The words where done with Distress Ink and a stencil.  I did prime the page because of the inked letters.

Thanks for looking!

Faith Art Journaling

Hi Friends,
I am starting this blog to share my adventures in Faith Art Journaling.  I will be sharing inspiration pages from my bible along with tips and techniques, with a few videos thrown in.  If you are new to Faith Art Journaling here is a bit about what this great adventure is doing and where it may be going.

There is a movement spreading across the world in our bibles.  It’s called Bible Art Journaling and it has reached the hearts of Christians world wide.  I believe it has reached so many of us because we were made by our Creator to be like him, creators.  We have a passion for art and expressing ourselves and because we have a passion for God and his word.  When you put two passions like this together there will be an explosion of deeper relationships with God and our fellow Christians and a new heart for the lost as we share our passions.
I remember when I first became a Christian 24 years ago, I was on fire and could not get enough of God’s word.  I would read and study as much as I could.  Then I slowly got comfortable and quiet times and prayer some how got pushed to the side.  I still knew the word and prayed when I could, but my walk with Jesus had grown idle more than I would have liked.  I tried to get that fire back with different studies and such, but it was never the same as it was in the beginning.  Then I saw bible journaling and was excited to get back into my bible.   I found the freedom and permission “per se” to do my art in my Bible, two of my favorite things (paper crafting art with God’s word) collided and it is a beautiful thing!  I have grown and gone deeper in my relationship with God, my Father, Jesus my Savior and the Holy Spirit my guide.
I have been able to share Jesus to way more people than I ever did before, just because I carry it around with me at church, I do my journaling it in public places and I post pictures on FB.  I have had people approach me about God more than ever before.  And isn’t that what we are commanded to do….go into all the world and share the good news.
So if what you see here inspires you and you would like to get started, know that there is no right or wrong way.  This is a time shared between you and God and where he leads you.  There are many different ways of doing Faith Art from writing the scriptures and adding color, to drawing illustrations of what you envision, using stickers and stamps.

On my first page that I did in my dedicated "Faith Art Bible" I was inspired by an image on Pinterest and penciled it in my bible in Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. I colored the image then with Prismacolor Pencils and used Gamsol and a blending stump to blend the colors.

If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Blessings,
Jill
